Your COP31 badge holder application contains your personal information.
Where relevant, this includes sensitive information about your First Nations Identity and disability status.
Your personal information is protected by law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The department collects your personal information for the purpose of COP31 and future events. This includes considering your application, UNFCCC engagement, and related purposes. Your de-identified gender identity, First Nations identity and disability information may be used for Australian Government policy development and reporting purposes.
Your personal information may be disclosed to other Australian Government entities, the UNFCCC and other third parties for these purposes. This includes disclosing your salutation (gender). Your name and organisation will be published on a list of COP31 participants. This list will be publicly available in Australia and overseas jurisdictions.
The UNFCCC may further use and disclose my personal information for its own purposes which are outside the Australian Government's control.

Once my information is disclosed to the UNFCCC:
- The UNFCCC will handle my personal information in its sole discretion, including disclosure to third parties;
- The UNFCCC may not be accountable for the protection of my information under the Privacy Act or equivalent overseas laws; and
- I may not be able to seek redress under Australian law or in an overseas jurisdiction.
